MCPSA
Ways to engage

Areas of Service

MCPSA recently completed its first 3-year strategic plan. Based on this intensive process to best utilize available resources and capacity, the Association will focus its efforts in the following three areas of service:

Advocacy

MCPSA will speak as the collective voice representing the best interests of Missouri’s charter schools and charter school communities. We have already worked to bring more equitable funding, LEA status, and stronger accountability statutes to all Missouri charter schools through focused and intensive lobbying efforts. MCPSA will continue to work for fully funded and highly effective charter public schools available to students and families in any community where they are needed.

Communications

MCPSA will broker the vast knowledge and experience of Missouri’s charter public schools and other charter organizations around the country to provide its members with learning opportunities and forums for engagement with each other and a variety of charter leaders. In addition, MCPSA will develop and engage parents, students, and other key stakeholder groups in a network of grassroots support for the charter model. Consistent communication and regularly scheduled events will be a key component of MCPSA’s service to member schools and its advocacy network.

Technical Assistance

MCPSA will develop and implement technical assistance programs over the next 3 years focused on areas most critical to the growth and sustainability of quality charter public schools. These activities will include:

  • New School Development
  • Matchmaking – Aggregation and Referrals
  • School Performance Management

Over the next several weeks and months, MCPSA will provide more detailed information about its Technical Assistance programs and how to engage in them.
