SUBMIT YOUR PRESENTATION PROPOSAL(S) for the 2013 Missouri Charter Public School Association Annual Conference.
October 2-5, 2013
The InterContential on the Plaza
401 Ward Parkway Kansas City, MO 64112
As charter public schools in Missouri look to expand and grow, the movement is at a critical juncture with a public call for increased accountability and a public demand for more quality options.
A charter public school performing as well or ‘a little better’ than its district counterparts has never been the goal. Charter public schools must offer high quality academic programs drastically increasing the achievement of the students they serve.
The Missouri Charter Public School Association is pleased to extend the call for PRESENTATION PROPOSALS for our 2013 Annual Missouri Charter Schools Conference. The theme of the 2013 Conference is Building on Excellence. MCPSA seeks engaging presenters with informative and dynamic sessions. The focus of each session should be developing the capacity of our charter schools’ educators, office personnel, leaders, governing boards, sponsors, and community stakeholders.
MCPSA invites charter school leaders, teachers, and other staff to submit proposals that examine practices that have proven effective. Preference is given to proposals with at least one presenter from a current charter school, governing board, or sponsor. The MCPSA Programming Committee anticipates selecting approximately 30 proposals for inclusion in the 2013 program. Proposal submissions are divided into seven strands and target topics based on feedback from our schools.
These targets are listed beneath each strand. Other topics may also be considered. This is YOUR chance to share effective practices, professional development strategies, programmatic considerations as well as ENGAGE participants in meaningful sessions allowing them to return to their schools and community ready to make substantive growth and change. Missouri’s focus on QUALITY CHARTER SCHOOLS leading to high student achievement should at all times be at the center of any presentation.
MCPSA is happy to again offer a teacher strand. All programming and sessions on the afternoon of Friday October 5 and the morning of Saturday October 6 will be designed for teachers. While we invite and anticipate having sessions for teachers on both Thursday and Friday morning, we have reserved Friday afternoon and Saturday to focus on teachers. Submissions are due Friday June 21, 2013. All submissions will receive an email confirmation within 48 hours of submission, so please make sure your email address is accurate. Notifications of acceptance will be sent out electronically the week of July 22nd.
To be eligible to present, all presenters must have a presenter level paid registration for the conference. We are currently unable to offer free conference admission to presenters. Please note that vendor proposals are rarely accepted. In the event a vendor’s proposal is accepted, the presentation must be submitted in advance and may not be product focused.
