While we understand that participation in CharterStart is optional, we want to ensure that potential Sponsors, the St. Louis Mayor’s Office, and the State Board of Education receive the important endorsement of readiness from MCPSA when an application is determined to be ready for due consideration.
In order to ensure the quality of our program and the applications, the Association grants a Letter of Application Readiness to groups who are part of CharterStart and whose applications are determined to be of high quality, ready for submission to the St. Louis Mayor’s Educational Advisory Board and/or to a potential sponsor.
When a charter school applicant group, under contract with the Association’s CharterStart program, has developed a full application determined to be of quality and ready to move forward for Sponsor consideration we will provide the applicant group with a Letter of Application Readiness to include in their submission. The Letter of Application Readiness will only be granted to groups whose application has been reviewed by our office as well as by a National Expert. This ensures that the application itself is a quality application.
For applicant groups electing not to contract with the MCPSA CharterStart Program, we offer an Application Review option including review by our office as well as by a National Expert. This option does not include the Association’s Letter of Application Readiness.
