2019 Kansas City Excellence in Education Award Winners

(Kansas City) – To recognize excellence and to honor educators who are making a difference for children attending Kansas City’s charter schools, The Missouri Charter Public School Association (MCPSA) announced the winners of the new Kansas City Charter Schools Excellence in Education Awards.

SchoolSmart KC (SSKC), a local organization dedicated to eliminating the achievement gap, sponsored the awards program for both charter school and district educators. SSKC believes that celebrating excellence through substantial awards provides an investment in current teachers and leaders while also encouraging the best candidates to pursue rewarding careers in education.  These awards amplify the value and importance of high-quality education to the well-being of children, parents, and the community.

“We are honored to provide this awards to those who have dedicated their lives providing the best possible education for their students, said Douglas Thaman, Executive Director of the Missouri Charter Public School Association. We recognize the hard work of these of not only the award winners, but the many other educators dedicated to setting a foundation for lifelong learning.”
